You have the power to change "one day" into "day one"

Welcome to my "day one." I'm Lila and this is my ride or die Harlie. I rescued her from a kill shelter when she was 10 weeks old and we've been inseparable ever since. I was sitting at this very spot when I decided that I needed to change my life. I didn't know exactly how or when, but I knew in my bones I needed to let myself off the leash of expectations others put on me, the ones I put on myself, and let myself live my life the way I’ve always wanted to.

I learned firsthand that sometimes everything has to fall apart before it can come together. As Instagram says, "perspective is the difference between wildflowers and weeds." I'll always choose to see the wildflowers, and that's how I created this grande adventure for myself. After all, it really does work out the way it's supposed to. I know, one cliche after another but they're cliches for a reason.

For at least 5 years now, I've had this lingering feeling, "is this it?" I'd distract myself with a new job, or a new apartment, a new boyfriend, a new activity, but it would always re-surface stronger, louder each time. I can't ignore it anymore.

I've given my notice at my apartment in DC, sold all my things (or put them in my parents' basement - thanks mom & dad!), and booked a house across the country in a new city, a new state, a new life. I loved my old one, but I've been ready for a new chapter for quite some time. The vagabond lifestyle is calling, where I plan to live in a new city every month or however long I want. First stop - Montana!

I created this blog as a platform to document my journey and I'm inviting you to join me on my explorations, spiritually and geographically. There’s a lot of other blogs out there designed for you, but I’m writing this one for me.  I'm not sure where this path leads, but I'm excited to figure it out. May this blog bring us closer together even though we're hundreds of miles apart.
